Hey! I'm going on a 2 week holiday and I'll be pretty much tech-free for the duration. Every year I do my best to take a gap from technology, stepping away from the laptop, iPad and day-to-day phone usage. Kinda like a digital detox.
As a Digital Product Manager, I spend my days on a laptop or sketching on an iPad. It feels good to allocate time to unplug, switch up the pace and go back to basics. Pick up old hobbies such as drawing and fishing, and read some books outside of my job field.
It gives me a new perspective, and helps me come back to work feeling focused and ready to go!
I may use my phone for specific tasks such as bank transfers or reaching someone I'm meeting that day, but other than that, nothing. No pings, no buzzing and no scrolling.
Instead, I'll be focusing my time and energy on being present, making the most of my time back home in Lochinver, Scotland.
I'll be enjoying 2 quality weeks with my incredible daughter, Oona.
Roaming the fields and beaches with the boy, Fionn.
And celebrating the 90th birthday of the most wonderful woman I know, Granny Jean.
Have a cracking few weeks everyone.
Team members have access to my handover and know how to reach me.
See you on the 26th of August.
